Show Public Health Column There were 105 new cases of cam-xamicable cam-xamicable disease reported to the Utah State Board of Health fcr the week ending August 18th, according to a statement released today by Dr. William M. McKay, Acting State Health Comjmissioner. Tuis is a decrease de-crease of 33 cases from the previous week, and 38 from the corresponding correspond-ing week last year. These new cases of cami.minicagle disease included one case each of trichinosis, undulant fever and tularemia. Trichinosis, Dr. McKay says, is not known to be widely prevalent prev-alent in Utah., and is contracted fran consuming imlpropcrly cooked jcriv fr;lr, infected hogs. Slight increases were reported for ' chicbenpox, measles, influenza and scarlet fever. Even though this is the time of year, Dr. McKay said, when communicable com-municable diseases are less prevalent prev-alent than at any other timls, they may and do spread through) the carelessness or indifferenoe of those who are unfortunate enough to have contracted them.
