Show "Messiah" To Be Presented Here Sunday Under the direction of Prof. Harry A. Dean the Snow College will for the sixth consecutive year present its annual rendition of Handel's' oratorio, "The Messiah". Messi-ah". The initial presentation this year is scheduled to be m the Mt. Pleasant South ward chapel, next Sunday evening, at 7:30 for all residents of the North Sanpete Stake. This is the second year that Prof. Dean has brought "The Messiah" to this city. Each year .hey have made appearances in the North Sanpete Stake with previous performances being in prmg city and Fairview. The chorus group consists ol , the Snow College mixed chorus, Lhe Snow College Glee clubs, the Ephraim singers, and Snow College Col-lege Alumni who have previously assisted in the presentation of the oratorio, totaling 110 voices. They will be accompanied by a thirty piece orchestra from the Snow College. The Ephraim Music Society recently organized with Eldon Frosc as president is sponsoring the oratorio this year and are perfecting plans which will take the production into more communities com-munities this year and thereby afford a greater number the opportunity op-portunity of hearing its rendition. Soloists taking the leading roles nclude: Mrs. Melba Armstrong, Mrs. Gladys Dean, Milton Perkins, Per-kins, Lloyd Christensen, and Allan Allred. Those singing in special groups are: Mrs. Bly M. Beal, Ethel R. Peterson, Mrs. Edward Blazer, Ellen Howell, Ellen H. Peterson, Marie Benson, Lois Jensen, Barbara Bar-bara Madsen, and Pearl Arnold-sen. Arnold-sen. A. I. Tippetts has been selected select-ed as the Text Reader. Piano accompanists include: Norma Sorensen, Ralph Anderson, Ander-son, a nd Mrs. Norma Nielson Kotter. |
