Show Farmers of Utah Work Part-Time at Other Jobs Utah farmers seemed to have found occupations off of the farms rather numerous during the past years, the United States Ceruus Bureau f .r the Department of Agriculture Ag-riculture revealed in their bulletin recently released. " The census shows that 17,380 farm operators, representing 56.6 per cent of all farm operators reporting re-porting in the state had occupation' other than farming in 1934 and 1935. This group of Utah farmers worked work-ed off of their farms the equivalent cf 1,609,925 working days. Of this group, however, 4,808 farmers, or 27.6 per cent worked! less than 25 days of the year. On the other hand, quite a numher of farmers had) rather extensive "off the farm" jobs with 12.5 per cent of reported farmers, or 2190 of the 17,380, working more than 250 days out of the year in their outside occupation. |
