Show Rites Observed for Mrs. Brown Funeral services were held Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon from the North ward chapel here for Mrs. Annie Hutchinson Brown, wife of Richard' Rich-ard' Brown and a Utah pioneer, who died at the home of a daughter daugh-ter in Provo Saturday night of causes incident to age. Bishop H P. Olsen presided. Presidents H. C Jacobs, Daniel Rasmussen and Patriarch A. O. Neilson were the speakers. Music was furnished by the choir and Mrs. Opal Scovil and Mrs. Jay Hafen, who sang a duet, and Mrs T. W. Jensen, who rendered a vocal vo-cal solo. The choir sang "Though Deepening Trials," "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow." and "A-bide "A-bide With Me." Invocation was offered by Asa Reynolds. William Olson pronounced pro-nounced the benediction. Interment Inter-ment was in the City cemetery with Bishop Olson dedicating the grave. Mrs. Brown was born August 14 1857, at Borland, Fifeshire, Scotland, Scot-land, a daughter of David and Jenett Crookston Hutchinson. Coming Com-ing to Utah with her parents when she was four years of age, she settled set-tled at Mt. Pleasant, where she lived until a year ago when nhe moved to Provo. She was married to Mr. Brown at the Salt Lake Endowment House January 19, 1882. An active member mem-ber of the L. D. S. church, she served for many years as president of the Relief Society of the Moun-tainville Moun-tainville ward, where Mr. Brown presided as bishop, until the family fam-ily moved into Mt. Pleasant some years ago. Surviving besides her husband, are eight sons and three daughters: daugh-ters: David H. Brown, Price; Richard Rich-ard Brown, Spring Canyon; W. K. Brown, Moroni; Thomas L. Brown, Blackfoot, Idaho; Alexander Brown, Melba, Idaho; Walter Brown. Mt. Pleasant; J. A. Brown, Leadervllle, Colo; Maurice Brown and Mrs. Agnes Ag-nes Shelley, Richfield, Idaho; Mrs. Mary Hanks, Salt Lake, and Mrs. Annie Pulsipher, Provo. One son and one daughter are dead. 51 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Brown. |
