Show Moroni Lions Install Officers At its annual installation meeting held in Maple Canyon Tuesday night, the following officers for the coming year were installed by the Moroni Lions club: President, Elmo Irons; vice-pres ident W. S. Anderson; secrebaiy-treasurer, secrebaiy-treasurer, Harry W. Egley; Lion-lamer Lion-lamer Joseph W. Olsen; tailtwist-er, tailtwist-er, Ernest R. Anderson; directors, El'don Westenskow, Dr. H. E. Dice and Rodney L. Anderson, holdover. Following dinner, the new President Pres-ident took charge of the meeting pnd spoke briefly on plans and projects that he expected to see accomplished by the club during, his administration. It was decided to hold the quarterly quar-terly Inter-Club meeting of the Sanpete county clubs In Maple Canyon, July 29, with the regulai monthly meeting of the directors of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, also in attendance. It was pointed out in a resolution resolu-tion passed at the meeting that a more distinctive name should be adopted for the recreational area fn Maple Canyon, as nearly every community in Utah has a "Maple Canyon". Rising toward the sky and at the back of the natural amphi-theatre, where more than three thousand ixuy v.. sembled, is one conglomerate structure struc-ture surmounted by the figure of a lion lying in repose and overlook-ng overlook-ng the entire recreational area of lefty Pes and cliffs, and because of this distinctive and most outstanding out-standing physical feature, the name Uon Park is expected to be adopted, at the meeting to be held Sis month, with forest officials also al-so in attendance. |
