Show Irs. Johnson's Funeral Is Held Impressive funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon from the North ward chapel for Mrs. Louise Larsen Johnson, 75, whc. died Tuesday in Gunnison at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ernest L. Swalberg, from a paralytic stroke which struck her Friday. She had suffered an earlier stroke about a year ago, and still another some time previous to that. Mrs. Johnson was born November 2, 1858, in Helsingborg, Sweden, a daughter of Claus and Annie Anderson An-derson Larsen. She was married March 25, 1881, at Helsingborg, to Lars Johnson. 'After emigrating to Utah, the husband died here in 1905. Joining the (Church in Sweden, she was known there as a home-maker home-maker for the L. D. S. missionaries, missionar-ies, and was also a choir leader and prominent Relief society worker work-er in that country. After coming to America with her husband in 1903 she continued her labors in the Relief society organization. She lived in Mount Pleasant until un-til 1930, when she moved to Gunnison Gun-nison to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Swalberg. Surviving besides the latter are four other daughters: Mrs. Harold Halverson, also of Gur.nis:n; Mrs. J. T. Cliff, Ogden; Mrs Ann S. Anderson and Mrs. S. W. Nielson, Mt. Pleasant. Seventeen grandchildren also survive. The body was brought to Mt. neiaaiit vvcuncauajf, wiicic iu war, kept at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Ann S. Olsen of Salt Lake. President Charles S. Hansen of Gunnson Stake, William Wil-liam Olson and President H. C. Jacobs of Mt. Pleasant; music by the choir, and solos by Mrs. T. W. Jensen, Mrs. Pearl Peterson and Uhlan Swalberg of Gunnison, Mrs. Johnson's grandson; prayers, Orange Or-ange Aldrich and Christian Johan-sen. Johan-sen. The choir sang: "Nearer My God to Thee," "Sister, Thou Wast Mild and Lovely," and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." |
