Show I FOUNTAIN GREEN ; I By Special Correspondence Mr. and Mrs. Clarence W. Hansen announce the marriage of their daughter, Jewel to Mr. Elwin Gcble of Nephi on January 18th. Their friends are wishing them much joy and happiness. Mrs. Sadie Sorenson announces the arrival cf a grand son c:i Jan. 22nd at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Scrensen cf Salt Lake. A. P. Anderson received sad news tliis we;k from Mr. and Mrs. Al Isom cf Los Angeles, that their co"-X Irvin, age 20, who was in a wrick aboul two ni nths ago, had undergone an cperat'cn where the doctors found it necessary to amputate his foot and part cf his leg. H? is in the hovpital and in a very critical condition. con-dition. Their many relatives and friends extend their sympathy and hope that he can seon recover. A large number of Fountain Green wcolgrowers attended the convention conven-tion last wnek at Salt Lake. Funeral s nicer, were held last Thursday afternoon for Shirley, the 7 months old baby g rl of Mr. and Mrs. Ree:e Hrlman cf Ely, Nevada, who was brought here for burial. The speakers were President Josepn. R. Christian! 'rn, Irvin Oldroyd and Bishop Anthony Winters. Prayers were offered by Conrad Aagard and Oie A. Allred. Mrs. Hilda Christiansen Christian-sen sang a vocal solo and the ward choir furnished additional selecticns1 Mr. and Mrs. Holman left for their home in Nevada immediately after the funeral. Mrs. Adele Nielsen, w'fe of Dean Nielsen, is teriously ill in the L. D. S. hospital at Salt Lake City. She has suffered from ear trouble for the past two weeks and when sh? did not imprcye, they decided to take her to an ear sprcialist in Salt Lake. Their many friends wWi liei a speedy recovery. The annual M Men and Gleaner Girls Banquet and Dance will be held cn February 9th at Fountain Green Municipal Hall. This promises pro-mises to be a big event and is for all M Men and Gleaner Girls, all M. I. A. officers, all Bishoprics of Moroni Stake and Stake Presidency. The Home Eccnomics club will have charge of the banquet. The Drama Division of the M. I. A. will present a play, "The District Attorney" on Monday, February 4th They wish the cooperation of everyone every-one with their presence at this fine entertainment. It is under the direction di-rection of Hazel Aagard and Stan-ey Stan-ey Ivcry. Wednesday evciniing at this home of Bertha Christiansen was held a "Cindlerella" party at 7 o'clock for the Primary. The, following girls were present: Stella Mayer, Camille Olson, Valene Christensen, Mary Johnson, Lois Couson, Carol Hans-en, Nelda Mikkelson, Hanma Ivory, Carol Car-ol Smith. Izola Jacobson, Etta Hansen, Han-sen, Betty Allred, Lenna Johnson. Mildred Allred, Enid Seeley and Adra Jacobscn. Scouts to Take Over City Saturday, February 2nd the Boy Scout Troop 34 of Bryce Canyon Council will take over police duties of Fountain Green city during the day. At 4 o'clock p. m. in the Municip.il Hall Boxing bouts and Wrestling matches will be held. There are twenty-one reentered Scouts in the trcop and are officered by the following leaders: Lyman Seeley, Scout Master; Gayle Yorga-son, Yorga-son, assistant Scout Master; the Trocp committee consists of Bishop Anthony Winters, Frank Jorgens"n, president cf the M. I. A. and Abram Livingston. Fountain Green Scouts Go Swimming: Monday even'ng, January 28th the Boy Scouts of Troop 34 of the Bryce Canycn Council motored to Nephi where they enjoyed swimming in the pool cf the Nephi High School. There were 21 boys in the trocp and five of the number took their swimming tents and success- Troop committeeman Abram Livingston Liv-ingston arranged, and was in cohrge ' of, the trip. Scout, Masterr Lyman Seeley and assistant Scout Master Gale Yor- : ,gensen accompanied the scouts and ' passed the boys in their tests. Thoso furnishing free transxrta-tion transxrta-tion for the fcouts were Abram Livingston, Liv-ingston, trcop committeeman; and Osmond Crowther. E. M. Ivory and Howard Stlllwell of Trcop 34, will furnish the program pro-gram for the Conjoint Session meeting meet-ing of the M. I. A. Sunday evening, Fcbruary3 in the Fountain Groen ward.
