Show Sportsmen to Give Course in Survival Training in P. G. As a public service and in the interest of accident prevention and human survival the Pleasant Grove Sportsmens Association is sponsoring spon-soring a local course in "Survival Training Instruction," according to Bryan Fugal, president. The course is open to everyone and will be taught by A. Lee Robertson Rob-ertson of the State Fish and Game Department. Instruction will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2 at the Pleasant Grove High School and classes will be of two hours duration. dura-tion. The course will continue each Wednesday for a period of 10 weeks. This course is designed to prepare pre-pare sportsmen for safe outdoor living under all conditions. The following fol-lowing areas will be covered: Safety Safe-ty afield (on the trail, winter survival, sur-vival, mountain climbing) ; camp safety; fire prevention and fighting; fight-ing; safety afloat (boat safety, seamanship, sea-manship, water skiing, fishing, pleasure boating) ; sportsmen's conduct (wildlife and forest conservation, con-servation, sportsmen's rights, fish and game laws) ; firearms and hunter hun-ter safety (gun study including types, performance, ammunition, maintenance and storage; handling in field, automobile, camp, home, and rifle range.) Those desiring to become instructors in Survival Training may take the qualifying examination and apply for certification. |
