Paul Anderson booted two and Fordham one for the extra ex-tra points. Both games were played play-ed in the Pleasant Grove ball park before relatively small crowds of spectators. While these two victories came easily, Friday's game with Springville Spring-ville may develop into a whing-ding. whing-ding. On paper it looks like the bikings have a mathematical edge, since the Red Devils have a 3 won, ,'! lost and 1 tied record for the season. The Springville lads have won from Spanish Fork, Lincoln Lin-coln and Lehi; they have lost to Provo, Carbon and Tooele all three A-Schools and have been tied by Payson. According to Coach Ned Alger, the condition of the Lehi field wdll have considerable to do with the success of the Vikings, come tomorrow to-morrow aftenoon. The P. G. back-field back-field is light and fast; and as a result do best on a hard dry field. Running as they do from the "T" a wet and soggy field would be all to the bad. On the other hand, Coach George Pehrson's boys run from the single wing", where speed and deception are not so important ;and a heavy field, not such a handicap. Taking everything" into consideration consider-ation the game which is scheduled to get underway at 2:30 p.m. on the Lehi High School Campus, tomorrow, to-morrow, November 4, should be a thriller from every standpoint. The fact that the Region III championship champ-ionship and a . birth in the State Semi-finals is at stake, should add fuel to the fire. If the Vikings are fortunate enough to win this one, they will meet the winner of tomorrow's Millard-Moab game in a contest to be played on Friday, November II at Pleasant Grove. If the Red Devils win, the semi-final game will be staged at Springville. |
