Show Junior Baseball Managers Are Appointed by City Glen Newman and Bill Lewis, local baseball enthusiasts, have been appointed by the City Council Coun-cil and the Pleasant Grove Activities Activ-ities Association to head1 up the Junior Baseball Activities for the coming- season. Both of the above named organizations have profer-ed profer-ed some financial aid. According to Glen and Bill, plans for this year-'s activity will include two junior'' leagues the Little Leaguers, ages 8 to 12; and the Pony League, ages 13 and 14. If things work out as hoped for, four Little League teams will be organized and will play in an inter-city setup.- Two Pony League teams will be organized the best team of which will play in a Utah County oi'ganization; and the other will play independent ball. Last year's championship Little League team will be of Pony Age this year, and should do well In the County League. In order to get things rolling, a meeting of junior baseball fans has been called for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Wed-nesday March 23 in the Fireman's Room of the city hall. "We will need at least ten volunteer managers man-agers for this year's program," said Mr. Newman. He emphaised the fact that this is a great opportunity op-portunity for men who are interested inter-ested in boys, to render valuable service to the kids of this area. A special invitation is extended to men interested in the program from Lindon and Manila to attend the Wednesday night meeting. Teams from these two communities communit-ies would stimulate considerable interest in the program; and at the same time, do a lot for the boys of these localities, Mr. Newman New-man concluded. |
