Show Sunday Services "Back to God" Very Successful "Sunday evening's first Stake-wide Stake-wide Back To God services conducted con-ducted by Pleasant Grove American Ameri-can Legion Post 70, was an outstanding out-standing success. "Our programs were well received, and from reports, re-ports, very much appreciated," said Commander Irrwin Jensen. The "Back To God" movement was originated several years ago at a Miami National American Legion convention; and since that time has grown in importance throughout the United States, Alaska, Al-aska, Hawaii and several European countries. Reports from many church-goers who attended the sacrament services ser-vices Sunday night, indicate that in general the listeners were impressed im-pressed by the value and scope of the American Legion program. Speakers who appeared in the wards indicated were as follows: First ward, Commander LeRue Thurston, Provo; Second ward, Dale Burgess, Alpine; Third ward, Don Mack Dal ton; Fourth ward, Delbert Chipman, American Fork; Fifth ward, Henry McNeil, American Ameri-can Fork; Sixth ward, William C. Smith; Grove ward, Karl and Lela Banks; Manila Ward, Boyd Fugal; Lindon ward, Joy O. Clegg, and Lindon Second ward, George Ball-if, Ball-if, Provo. Local Legionaires who served as Liason Officers in making ar-rangemenets ar-rangemenets for the services include: in-clude: Sam Hilton, Glen Matthews, Arthur Meredith, A. J. Rogers, Viron Washburn, Bob Comaby, Robert Holdaway, Jesse Monson, and Commander Jensen. |
