Show THE MAYOR REPORTS Mayor Ed C. Roberts stated on Wednesday that all business licenses licen-ses become delinquent on March 15. Payments made after the deadline will carry a ten per cent penalty. The Mayor asks for the cooperation coopera-tion of all concerned. Mayor Roberts called attention to the fact that in the future water wat-er users who are also sewer users shall be billed with a single billing. This must be adhered to positively since, the bonding agents require it. For the information of those concerned con-cerned the ordinance reads as follows fol-lows : "Shut-off" Provisions and Ke-sponsibilty Ke-sponsibilty Therefor. All water users who are also sewer users, shall be billed with a single billing for the same structure struc-ture for both water and sewer, and all of which combined total must be paid within specified time or water service shall be subject to "shut-off." Billings are due within 15 days of date. Any amount thereof which is not paid within 30 days, shall be subject to a-penalty of 10 per cent. Any delinquency for water service, sewer service or both which shall be past due 60 days or more, shall render water service ser-vice subject to "shutoff". It shall be the duty of the general manager man-ager to "shut off" service thereafter. there-after. Any service continued to be rendered after 15 days after time of "shut off" shall become the responsibility re-sponsibility of the general manager man-ager of the System (Water and Sewer) and shall be chargeable to him and to his Surety. The City Council is now engaged in a study of the City's subdivision ordinance, with a view to adequate ade-quate revision. The main purpose of the revision is to protect investors inves-tors who extend facilities to the subdivision and to more completely complete-ly protect the city's interests in the overall picture. i People who are building new homes, remodeling old one.s or constructing con-structing other buildings, should be warned that a complete inspection inspec-tion should be made by the City Building Inspector. This will eliminate elim-inate costly mistakes and future trouble, the Mayor said. Assurance has been received from the State Pujad Commission, from First East will soon be rebuilt re-built from Highway 91 to the Grovecrest School. The work of rebuilding and widening wid-ening will get underway as soon as weather conditions permit, the Mayor concluded. |
