Applications for admission by new and transfer students are running run-ning well ahead of last year, according ac-cording to Registrar W. R. Bell. Fall quarter registration is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 24-25 with an orientation period for freshmen on Thursday, Sept. 23. Among new personnel at the college col-lege this year is Dr. Ellvert Hiram Himes, recently appointed dean of students. For the past three years, Dr. Himes has been president of Dixie college in St. George, Utah. President of USAC is Dr. H. Aldous Dixon, who for many years was president of Weber college in Ogden. Under a new college-community arrangement, more part-time employment, em-ployment, both on and off campus, will be available to USAC students this year. With school dormitories, private apartments and rooms, there will be adequate housing for college students despite the expected increase in-crease in enrollment. Adjacent to the USAC campus is the Logan LDS Institute of Religion, Re-ligion, which has the largest enrollment en-rollment of any LDS Institute. |
