Show Funeral Rites for John T. Williams Conducted Wed. Funeral rites were conducted on Wednesday afternoon in the Second Sec-ond Ward Chapel for John T. Williams, Will-iams, 72, who died Sunday at the home of a son, Elbert M. Williams. With Bishop's counselor Keith Miller conducting the impressive services, they opened at 1 p.m. with Reed O. Walker of the high council offering the invocation. Next followed a vocal duet, Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen, accompanied by Janiel Fugal. They sang "When the Mists Have Rolled Away." First speaker was H. V. Swen-son, Swen-son, president of high priests quor- um, who paid tribute to Mr. Williams Will-iams as a friend and neighbor, and read touching incidents from Mr. Williams' early history. Next speaker was Neils Fugal, close friend and neighbor, who spoke words of tribute to Mr. Williams as a workman, honest and efficient, and spoke words of wisdom on the philosophy of life and death. The speakers were interspersed by an organ solo by Janiel Fugal who is a granddaughter of Mr. Williams, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Closing remarks of sympathy and appreciation were made by counselor Keith Miller, who left the thought that life is a journey, death is but the return home. Closing number, "Beyond the Sunset," was sung by Mrs. J. E. Hardman, Mrs. Lee Bers, and Mrs. Glade Bullock, accompanied by Miss Fugal. Benediction was pronounced pro-nounced by President Vilace Rad-mall. Rad-mall. Interment, directed by Olpin Mortuary, was made in the Spanish Span-ish Fork cemetery, where Bishop Robert A. Nelson dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Weldon and Frank Beck, Benteen Mundy, Robert and George Proctor and Robert Nelson. Flowers were cared for by the Second Ward Relief Society. |
