Show Smiths Return from Ten-Day Vacation To Southwest Area Mr. and Mrs. George L. Smith and Bishop and Mrs. Harvey Smith and children Sheryl and Joelynne returned last week from a ten-day vacation in Southern Nevada, Arizona Ari-zona and Old Mexico. The vacationers went directly to Las Vegas, where they toured the entertainment spots and visited adjacent ad-jacent points of interest for two days. Phoenix was the next stop. A five-day rodeo was in progress there and the party visited with Sanford Walker, wife Nell Smith Walker and their son Bernard. Driving south to Tucson, Arizona, Ari-zona, the party spent two days in the college town and visited with Captain Bill Harris and his wife, the former Ann Rose McMillan. Crossing the border from Nogal-es, Nogal-es, Arizona, into Old Mexico, the party spent several interesting hours shopping the numerous novelty nov-elty stores and observing the colorful color-ful native Mexicans. Back to Phoenix again for two days and attendance at a big league: double-header, Giants vs. Cleveland and Cubs vs. Milwaukee. The trip home was made by way of Las Vegas. When asked what impressed 'him most In the 'entire trip, the elder Mr. Smith said, "It was the size, versatility and efficiency of the U.S. Air Force operating in Tucson." |
