Show Melvina Judd Becomes Bride Of James Lowell Crofts; Reception Held were. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Whit-ton Whit-ton and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bel-liston. Bel-liston. Mrs. Wesley Jense was hostess and Paul V. Christofferson master of ceremonies. Verlene Stevens looked after the guest registrations. registrat-ions. The program was of Mexican style, delightful and colorful. This was in compliment to the bride who was born in Mexico. Among the highlights was the Mexican National Hat Dance, and music with guitar accompaniment. Mrs. Leda Thorne gave the very impressive toast to the bride and groom. In the serving room a lovely wedding cake centered the satin covered table. Here the following formally clad young ladies served: With only relatives and very close friends in attendance, Melvina Judd on Friday afternoon became the wife of James Lowell Crofts. Nuptial vows were exchanged ex-changed in the First Ward Relief Society hall by Bishop Harry S. Richards of the Fourth ward. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant B. Judd, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Crofts of Payson are parents of the groom. During- the evening hours the bride's parents entertained at a very nicely arranged reception in their honor. Under an arch of summer flowers flow-ers the newlyweds and their party graciously received relatives and friends. In the line with the bride and groom were their parents, the groom's grand parents Mr. and Mrs. Hanks, American Fork, and the bride's attendants, Miss Marie Stevens maid of honor, and Misses Mary Lee Judd, Martha Jones, LaVon Adamson, LaRee Matthews, Shirlene Roundy and Mrs. Duane Crofts. Duaine Crofts assumed the duties dut-ies of best man for his brother. The attractive bride received friends in a white lace gown with dainty pointed collar and long sleeves, full skirt modeled with . long train. Her sheer veil was fas-. fas-. tended to an off the face cap. She . carried a large orchid, nestled in pink and white blooms. : Her attendants wore pastel . gowns with identical styling and held basket shaped nosegays of . pink and white. Pretty little Elaine Whet ton ' and Carolyn Judd were flower . girls. Welcoming gusets at the door Cynthia Ann Whctten, Lila Lee Whettcn, Amanda Judd and Virginia Vir-ginia Stevens. Mrs. LaPriel Morford presided in the gift room. Assisting here were Mrs. David Stevens, Mrs. Lee Judd and Mrs. Earl Christensen. Christ-ensen. Young gift bearers were Carolyn Judd, J. R. Judd, Elaine Whetten and Judd Whetten. During the receiving hours appropriate ap-propriate organ music was played by Miss Rosalie Richards and Miss Colleen Marrott. Among the very distinguished guest present were' President and Mrs. Ernest W. Young and Mr. and Mis. Harold Brown. These gentlemen were both former presidents presi-dents of the Argentine Mission. The newlyweds left this week for Palo Alto, Calif., where they will temporarily make their home. Mr. Crofts is stationed at Moffitt Field Air Base. |
