Show - Friday Is Fair Day in P.G. All Exhibits Must, Be At High School By Friday At 10 a.m. Friday, September 18, is Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Community Fair Day, when products from the farm, garden, gar-den, home, handicraft, art, 4-H clubs, Future Farmers of America, Amer-ica, and flower gardens of this area will be displayed at the high school gymnasium. The annual fair will open at 1 p.m. and will continue con-tinue until 10:30 p.m. "From reports of the various chairmen in charge of displays, the 1953 Fair will excel any previous fair,' says George Smith, general chairman. The entertainment features arranged ar-ranged for this years fair include a football game at, 3:30 p.m. between be-tween Pleasant Grove Vikings and Murray High School on the high school campus. The highlight of the evening's entertainment will be a one hour variety show, with fourteen acts, including a complete variety of entertainment, given by various age groups, from young children to adults. The entertainment will be free of charge and presented in the high school auditorium, beginning be-ginning at 8 p.m. Prizes which have been donated by the business men of the community will be awarded to the performers. Chairman Smith and Wallace M. Saling, president of the Lions Club, sponsors of the Community Fair, extend a cordial invitation to the people of this area to attend the fair, football game and the variety show, and enjoy these events. ev-ents. Mr. Smith said also that all displays dis-plays must be at the high school gymnasium by 10 o'clock on Friday Fri-day morning, as judging will begin be-gin at that time. The building will be open at 7 a.m. Friday and entries en-tries will be received from that time until 10 o'clock when the building will be closed until judging judg-ing has been completed. Ray Merrill, principal of the Central School has announced also that the Central School Fair held every year in connection with the Community Fair, will be held next Wednesday, September 23 at the Central School building. |
