Show Attic Fire Damages Alpie Cafe $2000; Fire Chief Reports At attic fire which caused an estimated damage of $2000 to the Alpine Coffee Shop shortly after the blaze was discovered last Friday Fri-day afternoon. Pleasant Grove's two fire trucks, under the direction of Chief Richard Rich-ard Allred, brought the blaze under control at about 4:30 p. m., after being called out 20 minutes earlier. The trucks were stationed at each end of the building and poured water through the gables. A minimum of water damage was reported. Chief Allred stated that while he is not absolutely sure what caused the fire, it was his opinion that an over-heated electric wire could have set it off. This was the third call to the Alpine Villa Motel in approximately a year, and a half, Chief Allred said. Only a few days before the restaurant res-taurant business changed hands. George and Willa Adams, Salt Lake City, are the new managers. The cafe is now open for business. |
