Show Tennis, Ping Pong Tournaments Are Being Organized When softball schedules are over and dog days are at their height, there will be city tennis and ping pong tournaments to take up the slack of the last part of the recreation program, it was announced Thursday by Ed. Taylor, Tay-lor, recreation director. Director Taylo said that all those wishing to enter the tournaments tourna-ments should hand their names to him. The tournaments will start after the regular softball schedule is completed August 13. In other divisions of the recreation recre-ation schedule, he said both young and old are taking advantage advan-tage of volleyball, ping pong and horseshoe pitching. The handicraft classes are being well attended- With rain-outs of the softball schedule the teams are standing as they did a week ago. Third ward still rides the crest with 11 wins and no losses. However, the Third Warders have tide one and have one no contest. Lindon is right on the heels of Third, and with a little luck the boys from the south town might throw the standing into a cocked hat. The other teams are just marking time until the schedule is finished, none of them having a mathmatical chance of catching the leaders. |
