Show Vikings To Play At Lehi Tonight You can't win a basketball game by only taking 24 shots at the hoop during the night, Coach Earl Giles opined as he tried to get more and better shots from hs Vr'ur.gs in preparation for the game with Lehi Friday night, at Pioneerville. That's just what happened to the hapless youngsters from Strawberry City against Lincoln High here last Friday night the Vikings took just 24 shots at the hoop during the game. The score: Lincoln 37, with 14 field goals and nine foul pitches; the Vikings 25, with seven field goals and 11 foul pitches. And that was the story. As before, the Vikings handled the ball pretty well and their defense de-fense was not ragged, as the low score would indicate; but failure to take the shots freezing even in scoring position, made the locals look bad. Coach Giles laid much of the inability of the Vikings to take shots to inexperience. However, he said that the boys have done considerably better during practices prac-tices this week. He said that the team as a whole, was "pretty cold" against the Railsplitters. The game at Lehi, if past scores of the two games can be any criterion, should give the long end of the game to the Pioneers by about 20 points. BYU High defeated de-feated Lincoln by a comfortable score, and Lincoln took the Vikings Vik-ings into came by 12 points. On . the other hand, Lehi gave the Kittens a lesson in basketball basket-ball by defeating them 39-37 in a ding dong battle. If figures don't lie, then the Pioneers should drub the PGers as bad as the champion American Fork Caveman Cave-man in the opener. "It looks to me at the present time as if there are two teams that are sure of their positions in the league, unless something drastic happens American Fork, to sweep to first place, and Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove to grovel in last place. Lehi, B. Y. U, and Lincoln will have a touch fight for runnerup," Coach Giles said.
