Show Friday, Is Third Anniversary of TV In Pleasant Grove Today, April 18, 1952, is the third anniversary of Television in Pleasant Grove. Three years ago today the first Television Set was installed at 411 North, 3rd East. During the months that followed, many of the people of Pleasant Grove saw their first television at the Howard Nelson residence. There was only one station at that time, KDYL-TV broadcasting one and one half hours a day, six days a week. Local accounts differ as to just when the first Radio Set was installed in-stalled in Pleasant Grove, but it was probably during 1921. At this time it was necessary to have large outside Ariel for good reception. re-ception. It is estimated that by about 1975, TV sets will be made as sentitive as present day Radio. Also, colored Television on a practical prac-tical scale, is still years away from Pleasant Grove . Air space for 20 new TV Stations Stat-ions in Utah has been alloted since the recent lifting of the "Freeze" on new stations by FCC. Provo will get three, and Salt Lake City gets six. It is very questionable however, whether the requirements can be met and any of the new stations built and in operation during dur-ing the year 1952. I |
