Show Gerald Bellision Is Elected Chairman of Five Member Council To Study School Needs Gerald Belliston, manager of Christensen's, has been named chairman of an executive committee commit-tee of five prominent men and women 'who will study problems affecting Pleasant Grove schools. Mr. Belliston was elected to the position at a meeting Monday nigfTt in the city hall. Those who will serve with the new chairman include: Karl Banks secretary; Mrs. Daphne Westover, vice president; and Eldon Johnson and Mrs. Eloise Adamson, committee comm-ittee members. The committe.is charged with selecting three citizens' committees commit-tees of five members each to make a research and study the problems which are of vital concern to the welfare of our school boys and girls, Mr. Belliston stated. Problems slated for immediate sutdy, said Mr. Belliston, are: 1 Readjustment of the present pre'einct boundaries of Alpine School District to assure a more logical representation for the local board members. 2 A study of the proposed eight mill special tax levy for school buildings, with recommendations as to whether it should be continued contin-ued over the years. 3 Adequacy of housing facilities facilit-ies of the Pleasant Grove High School and Central elementary relative to the rapidly increasing school population. This research activity is the outgrowth of a meeting called early in March by Mayor W Robert Rob-ert Marrott,. which brought out leaders from civic, educational, service clubs and religious groups. |
