Show I viking) VIEWS I by Roberta Johnson PLEASANT GROVE BEATS PARK CITY Pleasant Grove was host to the Park City basketball team last Wednesday in the second pre-sea-son game of the year. Our team really showed how basketball should be played when they gave us a victory of 44 to 38. This gave a good preview of things to come, we hope. Let's all get out to support sup-port our team and seem them bring in the victory. BAND CONCERT A fine program from the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University under the direction of Mr. Robert Laycock was presented to the studentbody The students always look forward for-ward to the assemblies from the BYU as some of the very best entertainment en-tertainment of the school year. The program was enjoyed by everyone and we are looking forward to having them back again soon. HOST FOR DISTRICT DANCE Pleasant Grove High School will play host to the entire Alpine School district at the dance Saturday Sat-urday night at our own new stake house. With r.U the schools cooperating coop-erating to make this affair a huge success, it promises to be one of the outstanding events of the school year. Wes Barry's orchestra orches-tra will provide the music free of charge through the cooperation of the Provo Federated Musicians, Local 272 of the American Federation Fed-eration of Musicians through a grant from the Music Performance Trust Fund of the Recording Industry. In-dustry. Intermission entertainment includes some of the best talent from each of the schools, so don't miss it, and please, no taps on shoes. "TURN BACK THE CL.AOCK" The school play "Turn Back the Clock" will be presented in -grand style on Dec. 10, 1953. The play takes place in 1928 and it's all about when Mom and Dad were young. For all you parents it will bring back wonderful memories of a few years back when you were courtin' and having all the trials and tribulations of growing up. And as for you kids, well come along and get the inside story of what really happened when your parents were your age. The play will be presented for the Junior High on the 9th, the senior high on the 10th and the public is invited to attend the evening of December 10, in the high school auditorium at 8 p.m. The cast, under the very capable direction of Mrs, Gerry Bills, have spent a great deal of time and effort to present entertainment i that is really worthwhile. ; i |
