" BASIC fOOOS . k It orM-- AA WINS 4-H HONORS Kathleen Allen, 16 of Pleasant Grove, Utah, gets a big smile and congratulations from Karen Fladoes, Director of the Kelvinator Kitchen, after she was announced winner win-ner of a $300 college scholarship in the National 4-H Food Preparation Prep-aration Program. Kelvinator gives the scholarships annually to eight national winners, selected by a committee of 4-H. judges from among 48 state winners. All state winners receive all-expense trips to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago. The seven basic foods shown are everyday items to Kathleen, who has spent six years in 4-H work and has done most of the family cooking and baking1 for the last two years. She has collected six county awards in food preparation, frozen foods, canning and dairy food demonstrations and won a watch in state food preparation. |
