Show Ashton Wins In Alpine School Board Election Clarence D. Ashton, incumbent school board member of Alpine School District from Precinct No. 1, won out in the the school board election over Leonard Walker, Lin-don Lin-don and Spencer W. Madsen, Sr. Mr. Ashton polled 472 votes, Mr. Walker received 279 and Mr. Mad-sen Mad-sen received 67. Tabulation of votes by districts are as follows: Lindon district, approximately 400 registered voters, vot-ers, 267 voted, Walker, 262, Ashton Ash-ton 1; and Madsen 4. Edgemont district, approximately approxima-tely 800 registred voters, 452 voted, vot-ed, Walker 3; Madsen 3 and Ashton Ash-ton 452. Union district: approximately 300 registered voters, 93 voted. Walker, 14; Madsen 60 and Ashton 19. Lindon district received very fine support from their voters, getting out a plus 66 per cent of the voters registered in the district. The committee com-mittee working on the school board problem in Lindon are to be commended com-mended for the fine effort they made and the results obtained in getting everybody out to the polls. |
