Show ! Banquet Honors Wm. Hintons Prior To Their Leaving A farewell banquet by the American Legion and Auxiliary, Post No. 70, was given at the Owl Inn at American Fork on last Thursday evening, honoring Past Commader and Mrs. Wm. H. Hinton, prior to their departure for San Antonio, Texas to make their home. Karl Banks was toastmaster at the well arranged affair, where 25 legionairres and wives were present. Tributes were paid by Mrs. Victor Vic-tor Bronson, Mrs. Leo P. Harvey, B. H. Adams, Mrs. Wm. Pierson, Commander Ray Bastian Norman Whorton, and warm responses made by Mr. and Mrs. Hinton. Later the group returned here to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks where competitive table games were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Hinton have spent several years in this community and have been very active in civic and American Legion affairs. Mr. Hinton served as post commander, com-mander, and as past commander of the Legion Post, he has among other things for three years, managed man-aged the Strawberry stand on Strawberry Days and much of the success of that project has been due to his untiring efforts. Mrs. Hinton, has for the past 4 years held the office of secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of the auxiliary, and for the past year has been historian, and she has been cashier at the Strawberry stand on Strawberry Days. The popular couple left here on Monday and will visit at Galeston, Texas, before going to San Antonio, Ant-onio, Texas. In the group at the banquet to pay honor to Mr. and Mrs. Hinton were: Commander and Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond Bastian, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bingham, Bing-ham, Mrs. Wm. Pierson, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Adams Mrs. L. P. Harvey, Mrs. Milton Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Whorton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holdaway Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Tomlinson, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Herichsen and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bronson. |
