Show Development of Utah Industrially Was Theme of Fine Address At Lions Club Meeting Held Wednesday i Development of Utah from an' industrial standpoint was the theme of a fine address by Dr. EIRoy Nelson, director of the bureau bur-eau of economic research at the University of Utah, given at the semi-monthly meeting of the P. G. Lions and Ladies Wednesday e-vening. e-vening. Preceding the fine address, which was given at the Second ward recreation hall, the Relief Society of that ward served a fine banquet. Dr. Nelson, a native of Pleasant Grove, was introduced by S. W. Hilton, chairman of the program committee. He reviewed the economic econ-omic conditions of Utah prior to World War II, and then gave some very enlightening facts concerning the industrial growth of the state since that time. Wright Volger, of the associated chambers of commerce com-merce of Utah, showed a number of interesting slides, which supplements supple-ments Dr. Nelson's talk. President Arza Adams was in charge of the meeting. Past president presi-dent Neldon Lim presented Membership Mem-bership certificates to several new members. Sam Jackson was in charge of the entertainment part of the meeting, and introduced the following fol-lowing numbers: vocal solo by Miss Nadine Hales; clarinet sola by Wallace Saling Jr., and a vocal solo by Carl Clark. The accompanists were Margene Page and Doris Wadley. |
