Show iBaiile Creek Breeze BY K. B. "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified." "He is not here; for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." The incident related above, taken tak-en from the Gospel according to St. Mathew, transpired nearly two thousand years ago. Neither the passing of time, nor the vast changes that the human race has endured, has altered the beauty of these lines or the import of their message. Easter comes again to a world torn by turmoil, conflict, and dissension. dis-sension. The forces of evil are arrayed in all their sinister might, to destroy the faith men have in the immortality of the human soul. Even many who claim a belief in the teachings of the lowly Naz-. Naz-. arene are permitting the greed for money and lust for power to blind them to the ideals of the Christian religion which they profess. The resurrection of the Christ symbolizes a rebirth of the principles princi-ples that have made His teachings the greatest force for good, that humanity has ever known. As we approach this Eastertide, we might well take stock of ourselves, our-selves, in order to evaluate the attitudes at-titudes that motivate the things that we do. In spite of all we hear; in spite of all we see; an honest upright life and a helpful forgiving heart are their own just reward. In our haste to make a living, we often forget to live. Life is so sort; the hours so fleeting; that we have no good reason for doing anything except the best that lies within our power. "Then spake Jesus again to them saying, I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." - So-long 'til Friday. |
