Show Pheasant Grove City Council Outlines Program For More Oi!ed Roads To Be Built j Approximately one and one half miles of gravel oil-mulch road will be added to the ten miles of permanent per-manent road system already exist- ing in Pleasant Grove, just as soon as the project can get underway, it was announced Thursday by Mayor W. Robert Marrott and John S. Green, Chairman of the Road Committee. At a meeting held Tuesday night the mayor, and council discussed dis-cussed the roads to be treated with gravel and oil-mulch. According to Mr. Green, five blocks will be laid on Second North ' street. ' "At least that is our in tention at the present time," Mr. Green stated. Beginning at the Junius West coiner south to the Three Way Motor, and west to the city limits, over a half mile of gravel, oil-mulch will be laid. "It is the object of the city to lay permanent roads throughout Pleasant Grove while we are about it. It is our intention to make these roads 2 1-2 inches of gravel, and oil-mulch, so that their permanence may be assured. If we build them right in the first place the city will save hundreds of dollars for maintenance," Mr. Green said. Another credit which will ac-cure ac-cure to the city is the fact that with building going at the rate it is, better roads will bring more favorable reaction from prospective prospect-ive home makers and contractors, . Mr. Green said. As with other roads built last year by the city the contemplated roads will be subgraded and filled, so as to have adequate drainage at all times. This will do away with "soft spots" that have hampered ham-pered making of good roads in many parts of the city in times past, Mr. Green said. |
