Show Maybelle Mills Installed As President Jaycee Gems Hold Installation Banquet The installation banquet of the Pleasant Grove Jaycee Gems was held April 21 at the China City Cafe in Provo. The group was welcomed by President Mary Jacobs. Jac-obs. Prayer was offered by Dean Atwood. The time was then turned over to the Mistress of Ceremonies Ruth Cobbley. Hal and Lucy Haycock led the group in singing. Joanne Whitehead, White-head, accompanied by Marilyn Walker .rendered a vocal solo. Shirley Clawson gave two piano solos. Outgoing President Mary Jacobs then introduced the new president-,-Maybelle Mills and presented her with a corsage. The new president then pinned the Jaycee past presidents presi-dents pin on Mary Jacobs, and thanked her for her work in making mak-ing this a most successful year. The new president introduced her officers for the coming year. Norma Nor-ma Stubbs, vice-president, Ruth Cobbley, Secretary; Joan Hippach, two year direevtor; Bonnie Sterling Sterl-ing and Norma Harper one year directors, and Arlene Atwood, historian and reporter. The hold-ovxer hold-ovxer directors are Mary Wadley and Mary Jacobs. During the evening holders of lucky tickets received some unusual un-usual prizes, then the time was turned over to Calvin Mills who urged that as many as possible attend the State Convention in Logan. The ladies received small corsages cor-sages and the men were presented with toys depicting their work or hobby. The meeting was under the direction dir-ection of Alta Noble's color group, Ruth Cobbley, Beth McNees, Joan Hippach, Mary Wadley and Arlena Atwood. |
