Walker and the -awarding of a M?lal of Merit to I Commissioner Calvin Walker. The meoals were j'iven by the National Court of Honor. Doy Scouts of America . in recognition fur their j gallant conduct in saving the lives of Leslie T. C'romar and his son j Richard, from dnwnir.gr on June 20. lPlG The presentation was ' made by G. W. Larson, Chairman j of Court of Hone!', j .Via. r Earl ,T. Gie.iie of Salt Lake City was guests spekaer and gave an inspirational address, praising j the work done by the scouts and . the fine leadership of the scouters of Timpanogos stake. Approximately 60 awards .were made to 26 scouts and 1 scouters of the Tiir.panogos stake. Assist ant Executive Floyd Loveridge or the Utah National Parks Council made the awards to the scouters. while the scout executives of t)v six wards of the stake made the presentation to the scouts. The following letter was received by Scout James W. Walker from Dr. George J. Fisher. National Scout Commissioner: "I have the honor to notify you that the National Nat-ional Court of Honor has awarded you the Gold Honor Medal for Life Saving, the highest award of the Boy Scouts of America, in recognition of your gallant conduct in saving the life of Mr. Leslie T. Cranar and his son Richard." |
