Show Jaycees Hold Meeting At Alpine Grill The Jaycees and the Gems held their meeting at the Alpine Grill on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock with President Fred Sumsion in charge. After the pledge of allegiance alleg-iance to the flag, Harvey Smith offered prayer. Reports m the progress of the sewer committee was made by George McNees, report on the lighting of the tennis court was made by Merlyn Wadley. Wayne Holman reported on the inner-club inner-club dance and W. R. Slaton on the turkey shoot scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., and Dean Atwood At-wood told of the meeting in Provo where they heard John Ben Shep-pard, Shep-pard, national Jaycee President. W. R. Slaton introduced Dr. Keith Stafford of Ogden, who gave a very interesting discourse on how to gain and keep interest of members; mem-bers; and showed pictures of Jaycee Jay-cee functions at both State and national conventions. Mr. Sumsion reminded the boys that Thursday night . was work night and that Friday was travel trophy night to Mt. Pleasant. Be on the bank corner no later than 5:30 with your wives. President Sumsion also announced announ-ced that October 13 at the City Hall will be board meeting. Mrs. Armitstead, president of Jaycee Gems reminded the ladies of the Jaycee wives of Orem party to be held Friday, October 17, at 8 o'clock. There wall be luncheon and games, Bridge, Rook and Pinochle. Pin-ochle. $1.00 a plate, and urged that the Gems give their support. |
