Show Am. Fork News j Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Greenwood and daughters Charlotte and Evelyn of South Dakota arrived Monday night for a week's stay at the T. A. Greenwood home. Captain and Mrs. J- Max Walton and son, Gary, returned to their home in Sacramento, California, Friday after having enjoyed a ten-day ten-day visit with Mr. Walton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Walton, in American Ameri-can Fork and with Mrs. Walton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ne-beker Ne-beker of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lawrence Hutchings attended attend-ed graduation exercises of her granddaughter, Mary Kathleen Thomas, who graduated from the South high school in Salt Lake Thursday night of last week. Mary Kathleen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Thomas of Salt Lake. LaRae Grant had a joyous birthday birth-day celebration Wednesday evening when her friends gathered at her home and participated in games of croquet on the lawn. The group gathered 'round the bon-fire for a "weenie roast" as the high-light of the evening. LaRae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grant, was observing her twelfth anniversary and had the following guests present: pres-ent: Marilyn Binns, Betty Ann Fields, Mary Wootton, Bobby Noyes, Gladys Grant, Don Steele, Joy Rae Sabey of McGill, Nevada, Carma Grant and Leo Grant Special guest of the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Axel F. Andreason, LaRae's grandparents, grand-parents, of Orem. A lovely family dinner was served Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William R. Hansen honoring Mr. Cecil Ray Hansen of Burbank, California. Cali-fornia. Cecil is the son of Mr. and Mrs- Hansen and is spending a ten-day ten-day visit with them here. Covers were laid Sunday for the following: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stubbs, daughter, daugh-ter, Virginia Rae and two sons, Gene and Stanford, Mr. and Mrs. Don Stubbs, Jr., of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Spafford and their son, Willis, and daughter, Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Anderson, Miss Nina Sykes, Mr. and Mrs. William Hansen and the honored guest. Carolyn Pulley, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolphus Pulley, celebrated cele-brated her seventh birthday Saturday Satur-day afternoon when a host of friends honored her at her home with a lovely birthday party. Games and refreshments were greatly enjoyed by the following guests: Shirley and Dona Richards, Ruth, Nancy and Dan Moss, Marilyn Barratt, Jerry Pulley, Jerry Gaisford, Lynn and Groo Pulley, LaRae and Douglas Pulley, Carolyn Bromley, Marilyn Coddington, Jolene, Kathleen and Barbara Buckwalter, and Marilyn Pulley. Mrs. A. W. Clyde, Mrs. C. A. Grant and daughter, Gladys, and Mrs. Reed Robinson and daughter, Lois May, attended the monthly meeting of the Provo Chapter of the League of Utah Writers held Monday night in the Little Theatre at the B. Y. U. in Provo. Professor Pardoe had a short three-act playlet produced for the group by some of his students. The script for the play was written by Mrs. Clyde and won much favorable favor-able comment from those present. Mrs. J. M. Adamson and June Mc-Candlass Mc-Candlass of Los Angeles, Cal, visited vis-ited in American Fork last week with relatives and friends. Mrs. John Dickerson, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Dick-erson Dick-erson and the visiting ladies motored to Park City Thursday evening and called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McCandlass for a short visit. Friends in American Fork were interested to learn of the marriage of Miss Betty Jeanne Dorton of Lehi to Clyde E. Lambert on May 30. The marriage was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dorton, in Lehi. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs-Joseph Mrs-Joseph Lambert, also of Lehl. The young couple plan to make their home at 1957 Hubbard avenue,. Salt Lake City. The bride is a former student at the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan, where she was a pledge of Alpha Chi Omega and also attended the Brigham Young university at Provo. I |
