Lewis, commanding com-manding officer of the army air forces basic training center at Kearns, officers of the Utah State Press association presented him a scrap book, containing clipping's from state papers on the visit during the annual meeting meet-ing of the association last January. Jan-uary. Deeply moved by the gift presentation, pre-sentation, Col. Lewis told the donors that the press of Utah is indeed "doing a wonderful work" in keeping the home-folks informed in-formed of the whereabouts and doings of their boys in the service. serv-ice. "It was indeed a pleasure to have Utah State Press association associa-tion members as our guests last January," said the commanding officer, "and we are hoping that you will find it possible to visit us again in the very near future." The scrap book had been specially bound and contained Che inscription: "To Colonel Converse R. Lewis, in appreciation apprecia-tion for our visit to Kearns." The book was prepared by Hen-drik Hen-drik Romeyn, manager of the association's clipping service. Following the presentation, association as-sociation officers were shown around the post, where vast improvements im-provements of the large basic training center were noted. |
