Show NUTRITION CLASS BEING ORGANIZED IN PLEASANT GROVE DISTRICT Classes instructed by Evelyn Hansen, Han-sen, nutrition counsel, will begin on May 4 at a place to be decided later. Pleasant Grove nutrition executive execu-tive committee consists of Mrs. Nettie Net-tie Gammett, chairman, with Mrs. Laura Robertson, Winnie Adam-son, Adam-son, and Mrs. Thelma Adamson and Lena Pearson. This organization is in line with the national and state nutrition program as instigated and outlined at the White House conference called by President Roosevelt at Washington, D. C, last summer. Need for such a conference was found when on the first draft call for national defense 40 to 60 per cent of the boys were rejected as physically unfit from causes directly di-rectly traceable to poor nutrition. The purpose of the executive committee will be to organize the community to put into every home the newer knowledge of nutrition and to help the citizens, men as well as women, to become familiar with the six points of the program, i. e., 1 Right choice of food. 2 Wise purchase. 3 Proper storage. 4 Scientific preparation. 5 Scientific Scien-tific methods of cooking. 6 Appetizing Appe-tizing serving. It has been conclusively proven that through a well balanced diet we may keep well, feel fit and vigorous, vig-orous, increase our courage and free ourselves of the state of not-quite-living because of tired bodies and sluggish minds. We will be relieved from the feeling of being not sick yet not healthy. The plan of normal living is very simple and the information will be given to any group or individual in either a series of classes or lectures or in condensed form in talks or various subjects as requested. Any requests for such help should be directed to some member of the executive committee. All who are interested, watch for further announcement of time and place. |
