Show County Democrats Re-elect Officer Members Reelection of all county officers, adoption of resolutions reaffirming faith in the present Democratic adminstration, and a plea for unity by Keynoter Grover A. Giles, state attorney general, highlighted the Utah county Democratic convention at the Provo high school auditorium Saturday. LeRoy Johnson of Provo was reelected re-elected chairman of the county Democratic organization by acclamation. accla-mation. In the same manner Mrs. Algie E. Ballif of Provo, Dean E. Terry of Provo, and Marcellus Nielson Niel-son of Mapleton were reelected vice chairwoman, secretary, and treasurer, trea-surer, respectively. Miss Thelma Vest of Payson, deputy dep-uty county recorder, was nominated for vice chairwoman, but upon her own request, her name was withdrawn with-drawn and Mrs. Ballif was reelected by acclamation. Seventy-five delegates were elected elect-ed to the state convention, and a county central committee members certified by the various districts. R. J. Murdock of Provo, chairman of the Utah county commission, presided over both the morning and afternoon sessions. More than 300 Democrats attended the afternoon after-noon meeting. |
