Show Civic Clubs Are Active On City Development i i During the past week all committee commit-tee assignments reported some progress on their various undertakings. under-takings. The committee pit streets, Abe Nielsen, chairman, reported that his committee made some progress -toward securing options from property owners on the projiosed extension northward of State street. The city council reviewed progress made by 1 the streets committee, applauding their efforts and promised full city cooperation. This project calls for extending State street to the north for the purpose of creating an addition addi-tion to Pleasant Grove's business section. L. Owen Ash, chairman of the committee on housing reported that a survey made shows no vacant living quarters In Pleasant Grove. Several building contractors, It Is said, are ready to proceed with defense de-fense housing -construction the moment mo-ment that Pleasant Grove is declared de-clared In a defense area. In the interim, the housing commtltee Is proceeding with plans, surveys, etc., gathering Information that will be available to government agencies when wanted. These surveys will cut time between application for housing hous-ing relief and consummation of the project. |
