D. Wallace, chairman of community gardening projects. They stred the value of student.s u til iziig vacant spaces on home lots fc vegetable and flower gardens, thereby assisting assist-ing in food production as well as providing a healthfvfj and profitable Interest. The products 0r ' ?he gardens would be showh at the school and comn?unity toft in the fall, and prizes will be available for out- standing garden care and produce. Teachers agreed to assist with the project until the close of school. During the summer the progress of the gardens will be reported by the beautiflcation committee Inspectors. In-spectors. Mr. Wallace promised to dlstrib ute free garden seeds to students needing them and later free plants to be set out In the children's gardens. gar-dens. Bulletins on gardenfig outlining out-lining plans for vegetable planting, types of seeds best suited to the needs and other vital information sent out by the Utah agricultural experiment station, will be given to students desiring them. |
