Show Tells Highlights Of Cuban Trip Mrs. Erval Christensen of Orem, gave interesting highlights on her trip to Havana, Cuba, at a meeting meet-ing of the Mother's Club held at the home of Mrs. Manetta Gamett Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Christensen, who, with her husband, went to Havana to attend the Lions club convention there, was impressed with the friendliness friendli-ness of other delegates, and especially espe-cially with those from Canada. She also marvelled at the few traffic accidents in a city where there seemed to be no other regulation than that the first car to arrive at an intersection and honk, had the right-of-way. At Baton Rouge she said the Louisianans were perturbed over the discovery that the decorative frieze in the capitol building built hy Huey Long has for its motif, the German swastika. Lovely arrangements of chrysanthemums chrysan-themums were used by the hostess to decorate the living rooms. Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en motif was carried out in the attractive luncheon. Special guests, other than club members, were : Miss Estelle Fenton, Mrs. Lizzie Bullock, Mrs. Merle Coombs, Mrs. Pearl Wadley, Mrs. Jane Armitstead, Mrs. Onita Day, Mrs. Laura Scholes, Mrs. Daisy Nelson, Mrs. Rulon Robbins, Mrs. Erval Christensen and Mrs. Lucile Hillman. n . |
