Show P. G. Community Fair W as Success From Every Angle The Pleasant Grove Community Fair proved to be one of the 'finest activities ever staged in this city, and showed hard work and much forethought by those . in charge. Each department showed some of the highest quality of products of the farm and the home. The needle work was pronounced by judges to be outstanding Blue ribbons were numerous; while red and white were more equally de-vided. de-vided. This display was directed I by the Relief Society Presidents. j The display brought in by the youngsters of the Central School was well arranged, and showed the best products of the farm and orchard. or-chard. The 4-H clubs also come in for much Draise 'for their rnntrihiitinnc and proves the result of training and continued effort. The church welfare department was also a surprise to many people who little realized before, the great extent to which this church activity act-ivity extends. Quilts, Blankets, and other bedding were displayed as well as new and ready made clothing and all kinhs of canned goods. The American Legio'i display possibly held the attention of the teen aged boys, as most of the display being war trophies sent or brought home by returning service men. Perhaps the most enchanting part of the fair was the beautiful 'flower display where brilliant glads, gorgeous rose- and regal Dahlias vied with efAiother for recognition. recognit-ion. y.. A varied variety of color was also shown in zinnias, asters, mari-olds, mari-olds, nasturtions, and deliphanium. Even modest sweetpeas and pan-sies pan-sies added sweetness in the midst of their more showy competitors! Floral exhibits were displayed by Nuttall Bros, of Provo; Humphries Floral of American Fork; B. Y. U. Gardens, Provo and Roboks of Orem, whose contribution was in the form of a birthday cake, built of Asters. The livestock show was held in the park accross from the high school, and according to County Agricultural Agent S. R. Boswell, there were some fine stock shown. |
