Show HESS AND GOERING HEAR THEIR FATE . . . Hermann Goftring, left, as he hoard sentence, of death by hanging, and Rudolph Hess, who received life sentence at the recently completed Nuernberg war crime trials. Twelve Nazi war leaders were sentenced to be hanged, three were acquitted and seven received jail sentences, ranging as in case of Hess to life imprisonment. All defendants who were sentenced to hanging immediately filed notice of appeal. Those sentenced to hang were Goering, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Field Marshal Gen. Wilhelm Keitel, Ernst Kallcrnbrunncr, Dr. Alfred Rosenberg, Hans Frank, Wilhelm Frick, Julius Strcichcr, Fritz Sauckcl, Col. Gen. Alfred JodI and Arthur Seyss-Inquart. |
