Show Funeral Is Held. For Edrnore Darling Ned Edmore Darling, 31, second sec-ond vistim of the auto-truck collision col-lision on Highway 91 in American Fork Oct. 9, died in the American Fork hospital Saturday at 4:15 a. m. of a basal skull fracture. Funeral services for Mr. Darling Dar-ling were held in the Fourth ward chapel Wednesday at 2 p. m. with Nels Jensesn, counselor in the Sixth ward bishoDric. officiating. Discussing the resurrection, J. Stanley Peters cited scriptural proof and said that life on earth was only a small span, a preparatory prepara-tory state, for the future where the joy of meeting would exceed the sorrow caused by death, and also paid tribute to the physical stature of the deceased and his love of sports. Daniel H. Jorgensen spoke of the dependibility, willingness, cheerful disposition of the deceased, de-ceased, and Mr. Jensen spoke as a neighbor of 18 years, and told of Mr. Darling's help in coaching younger boys in sports. Music included a solo, "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose" by Moral D. Steele, and two duet numbers, "God's Other Room" and "In the Garden" by Mrs. Joseph Mecham and Mrs. Jack Cook. Mrs. Owen Humphries accompanied the .vocalists and Mrs. Raymond T. Bailey played the prelude and postlude. The invocation was offered by Mr. Jorgensen, the benediction pronounced by Lot Robinson and the grave in the Lehi cemetery dedicated by Warren F. Anderson. Ander-son. He followed the occupation of poultry poul-try dealer and was active in sports, being a member of the American Fork baseball team and previously played on the Pleasant Grove Softball team. June 30, 1939, he married Marguerite Mar-guerite Boyce, a cousin of the widow of Mr. Kirkpatrick, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Gary, Bruce and Diane Darling, Pleasant Grove; his parents, and the following brothers and sisters, Howard, Melvin and Albert Darling, Mrs. Ray (Vietta) Draper, American Fork, and Mrs. Maxine Beck, Draper. |
