Show P.G. Boys Leave For Kansas City For Convention Seven boys from the Pleasant Grove Chapter of the F.'F.A. will be in the band that represents Utah at the F.F.A. convention at Kansas City Missouri. They left yesterday for Salt Lake City where they will have final rehearsals re-hearsals at Barrett Hall with the other 10 5 boys in the band. They leave Salt Lake tonight and will arrive at Denver where they will give a concert Saturday afternoon then they will continue on to Independence, Missouri, where busses will meet the group and take them on a sightseeing tour of church shrines and other points of interest, including the home of President Truman's mother. After being guests at a luncheon, lun-cheon, the Utah band will play at a public concert at 2:30 P.M., according to L. R. Humphreys, professor of agricultural education, educat-ion, Utah State Agriculture College, Col-lege, whho organized the band from FFA musicans in 62 Utah communities. Besides opening the convention with a Sunday evening concert in the Kansas City muncipa! auditorium audi-torium and 'being featured . at mass memorial services Monday, the Utah band has been given special recognition in being invited in-vited to play in the arena of the American Royal livestock show. At this event the Star Farmer of America will be selected and a-warded a-warded the American Farmer degree de-gree for . outstanding agriicult-f ural accomplishments, Professor Humiphreys said. The Utah band also will play in the stands at the American Royal horseshow, one of the premier pre-mier spectacles of its kind in the nation. The boys making the trip from Pleasant Grove wili be Archie Loader, Leon Hatch, Guyman and Gordon Adams, Mark Radmal!' Kenneth Richins, Glade Walker. They will return from Kansas on the 27th of October. |
