Show First Ward Relief Society Plants Tree At 1.30o'clock P. M. on Tuesday, the Ladies of the First Ward Re-Relief Re-Relief Society met on the chapel grounds and planted a beautiful White Weeping Willow tree. An inspiring program preceded the planting. In the warm outdoor sunshine, Mrs. May R. Walker sang "Trees", Bishop J. A. West offered the dedicatory de-dicatory prayer and Mrs. Ida West read a poem on trees. The congregation then sang '"We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet"; Mrs. Gertrude Black-hurst Black-hurst pronounced the benediction. Relief Society President Sadie A. Beck, set the roots and all the ladies present helped in filling in the soil. They were assisted in the cement cem-ent work and digging by Loren West. The First Ward Relief Society was unable to plant their Centennial Centenn-ial tree last year due to the unfinished unfin-ished condition of the chapel and grounds, but expect that with food care their tree will make a rapid growth. |
