Mrs. L. K. Cannon of Alhain-bra, Alhain-bra, Cal., and Mrs. Charles Pink of Jefferson, Cal., have been visiting their sister, Mrs. Harold Holjey. Sunday accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ilolley and children they went to Trcmonton to visit with other sisters. Mrs. Ludvig Larscn, Mrs. Charles Warenski, Mrs. Merlin Larscn, Mrs. Henry Greenland, Mrs. Lyle Dimick, and Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Larscn spent Wednesday In Sail Lake City. Mrs. John A. Butterfield, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Bodell Jand daughter, Diane, and Cpl. and Mrs. James II. Bodell were guests Friday of their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Martha II. Chipman. Cpl. Bodell has since returned to his base" at Florence, South Carolina, from where he expects soon to be sent over seas. He is a bombardier in the- air force. The Third ward officers and teachers of the -Primary association associa-tion held a party and planning meeting Tuesday evening. Summer Sum-mer work was discussed, games played and refreshments served. Twenty-one were present. Word was received by relatives on Friday of the death of Mrs. Ellen Maud Taufer Irvine, 59, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Irvine was a native of American Fork, being be-ing the daughter of Louis J. and Ellen Conder Taufer. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Satur-day at 1 p. m. at 36 East Seventh South, Salt Lake- City.- Mrs. Frank Strong and Mrs. Warren V. Clark were joint hostesses hos-tesses for a family dinner party Sunday at the Strong home in honor of Harold S. Peterson who left Thursday for navy training. Covers were laid for 14. Mrs. Eunice Bjwadley attended attend-ed the annual honor assembly at the Provo high school at which time she presented the gold medal for the declamation contest. This contest has been sponsored by Mrs. Wadley for a number of years. The. winner this year was Kenneth Stubbs who read the one-act play "Sky Fodder." - Mrs. Guy S. Richards and Mrs. V. F. Houston attended the annual ann-ual mothers and daughters banquet ban-quet at the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at the Newhouse Hotel in Salt Lake City Friday. Miss Mildred Richards and Miss Betty Houston, juniors at the University Univer-sity of Utah, are members of the sorority. . - ".'' Wednesday Mrs. Thomas S. I Priday, Mrs. Glen L. Taylor, Mrs. Guy S. Richards, and Mrs. Lige Chipman attended the Mothers and daughters tea in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Provo, given by the members of Cesta Tie social unit. Miss Margaret Mar-garet Priday, Miss Barbara Taylor, Tay-lor, Miss Lucille Richards and Miss Charlotte Chipman belong to the unit. CLUBS AND SOCIALS Mrs. A. F.
