Show ; S. W. Hilton Is Elected Lions .... Club President Sam W. Hilton, Utah Power & ! Light Co. employee, and progressive progres-sive member of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club, wa8 elected President of that organization for the year 1944-45 at a meeting held Wednes- day evening a1 the First ward amusement hall. Mr. Hilton has served in various capacitiy in the h)eal club, being a member of the Doara oi directors lor tne past two years and served in a very satisfactory satis-factory manner. S. A. Kirk, manager . of the , rieasant Grove Lumber and Supply Sup-ply Co. and a loyal Lion was elected ele-cted vice president, H. E, Bradley was reelected Sec- retary of the club. Mr. Bradley Is a very efficient secretary; Wm. C. Smith was elected ' tail-twister; Bill Hunter, Lion Tamer; Directors Direct-ors for two year term: Junius A. West, and Warnick Swenson; hold-, hold-, over directors, Fred Sumsion and A. B. Gibson. ' Lieutenant Don Hilton, who recently re-cently returned from the. European ' theatre of war and Mrs. Hilton were guest's" of the Club. Lieut. . Hilton spoke briefly, stating that hew as 'glad to be back to Pleasant Grove and be a cuest of the club. Riley Riohards, a member of the local club, and now in the armed ' forces and Mrs. Richards were in attendance. Lion Richards made a short talk,, telling of his appreciation appreciat-ion of having the opportunity of being a member of such a fine organisation or-ganisation as Lions " International. Attorney Don Mack Dalton urged urg-ed the members to plan on attending attend-ing the state convention of Lions to be held in Salt Lake City next month. . Edward Hoopes, a former resident resi-dent of Pleasant Grove, and a former for-mer club member gave a short talk stating that he had decided to ! make Pleasant Grove their home, and had purchased a home here. Four new members were installed instal-led into the club, with Wm. C. 'Smith, doing the honors of inducting induct-ing them. These are: Fred Sholes, Leland .Ivers, George Jaynes, and John Duder. President Rulon Brimhall pre- - - sided,' and following the business sesjon dancing was enjoyed. |
