He is now stationed at San Carlos, California. Sergeant Jorgensen was one of the first A-merican A-merican soldiers to use war dogs in actual combat recently returned" from ihe southwest Pacific to report re-port the amazing record of the dogs to the commanding officer at San Carlos, California. Six sold- iers who shared their foxholes, k" rations and precious drinking water wat-er with their war dogs returned from action in dark New Guinea and New Britain. Private Ellis Devereaux of the U. S. Marines arrived Tuesday from San Diego, for a three day visit with his wife Rhea Walker Devereauux and two small sons Larry and Blaine and with his parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Devereaux. Private Harold Hooley, son of Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Hooley returned return-ed Sunday to his camp in California Calif-ornia after spending a furlough here. Private Ray Harris from Camp Roberts, California, has been visiting vis-iting his - parents Mr. - and Mrs. Stanley B. Harris) of Windsor ward. He left Tuesday, for a new assignment.. Pfc. California, his new station. 1 Paul has received five months of army air force instruction at Cental Cen-tal State College, at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and received his ortif icate of graduation there on May 5th.
