Show Officers, Teachers Of Stake M. I. A. Entertained Here Officers and teachers of the Timpanogos Tim-panogos stake M. I. A. were entertained enter-tained at an opening social in the Second ward amusement hall Tuesday Tues-day evening, with Joseph Day and Fstelle Fenton, presidents of the. stake board, in charge. At a short preliminary meeting, congregational singing was directed by Mrs. Reva Fugal. The invocation invoca-tion was offered by Calvin Swenson, Swen-son, and the address of welcome by-Joseph by-Joseph Day. Mrs. Victor Stokes sang, "In the Garden of My Heart." She was accompanied by Mrs. Reva Fugal. The M. I. A. theme for the coming com-ing year, "My Son, Keep Thy Father's Commandments" was presented pre-sented by Gordon Wright. Miss LuJean Olpin gave a humorous humor-ous reading, followed by a vocal solo, "If I Had a Thousand Lives to Live," sung by Howard Nelson, with his wife at the piano. Dr. Elroy Nelson of the University of Denver, was the speaker. He talked of the necessity of M. I. A. workers accepting thefr responsibilities. responsi-bilities. The dancing party which followed fol-lowed the program was arranged by George Paul and Mrs. Reva Fugal, Howard Nelson's orchestra furnishing furnish-ing the music. Mrs. Leone Told was in charge of the light refreshments, and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Told and Donna Neves presided pre-sided at the punch table. o |
