Allen and family spent Monday in Nephi, where they attended the Garret family reunion. Harold Firniage and Mack Chip-man Chip-man returned home Monday from a hunting trip in Kamas and surrounding surround-ing country. Miss Grace Taylor was a week-end visitor in Spanish Fork, where she was the guest of her aunt, Miss Ruth Evans. Miss Rosa Wagstaff left Tuesday for Chinook, Montana, where she expects ex-pects to make her home, after her forth-coming marriage. Mrs. Noel McMillan and baby daughter of Murray, spent several days last week with her mother, Mrs. Ann Cheever. Howard Paxman has accepted a position with the Bennett-Werner Radio Co., during the absence of Karl Bennett, who has gone on a tour with the "King's Band and Entertainers." Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lane and family of Ogden, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Haag Tuesday. Mr. Haag1 met the Lane family in Xenia, Ohio, while there on a mission for the L. D. S. Church. Mrs. Thomas Singleton and daughter, Stella, in company with Mr and Mrs. 'James Herbert of Salt Lake City, left the first of the week for Idaho, where they will visit friends and relatives, indefinitely. Mrs. Martha Wilkin returned to her home in Alpine last Thursday, after visiting five Weeks in American Fork, a guest at the home of Mrs. M. R. Healey. Mr. and Mrs. E, 3. Stice and sons, Harold and Virgil, left Thursday morning for Keokuk, Iowa, where they will sjiend a ten days vacation visiting friends and relatives. En-route En-route home they expect to call on, relatives in Missouri. Niles Makin of Salt Lake City, who has been visiting in American Fork the past several weeks with his grandparents, Mr. andi Mrs. Irvln Makin, Sr., returned to his home Tuesday. The board members of the Alpine Stake Relief Society held their regular regu-lar monthly business meeting Mon day afternoon at the home of their president, Mrs. B. N. Christensen. A tasty repast was served following the meeting. Miss Mildred Dunkley in company with Mr. and Mrs. Payton Alextnder of Provo arrived home Tuesday evening even-ing from California, where they spent a two week3 vacation sightseeing and visiting relatives. A wonderful trip is reported. " i Mr. and Mrs. Ray Coddington and family arrived in American Fork Saturday from the Coddington ranch at Colton, where they have spent the past two months. Mr. Coddington returned re-turned to the camp Tuesday in company comp-any with Mrs. Mark Coddington and Foster Nicholes, for an indefinite stay. Mrs. Mark Coddington will visit with her husband, who is employed there. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coleman and tiree children of Bristol, Nevada, and Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Loveridge and 'tamily of Salt Lake City, were Sunday Sun-day dinner guests of Mr. and, Mrs. E. p. Evans. Mrs. Sarah Saxton and son, John, ol Salt Lake City, and Mrs. West of Leh'i, visited last Friday with Mrs. Hannah Dunkley and Miss Cady Dunkley. Jack Devey, small son of Mr. and Mrs'- Walter iDevey, underwent an operation for the removal of his tonsils ton-sils last week. According to last reports, re-ports, Master Devey is getting along fine. Complimentary to the birthday anniversary of her daughter, Mary, Mrs. J. F. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Parker and daughter, Jean, arrived home Saturday Satur-day evening, after a week's vacation - trip in Idaho. They visited relatives and friends in Burley, Twin Falls, American Falls, Shelley and Idaho Falls, and spent a day sightseeing in Pocatello. Enroute home th'ey stopped at Tremont, Utah, where they were Joined by Miss LaVern Garfield, Jean's cousin, who accompanied them here for a week's vacation. Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt motored to Provo Bench Monday, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Loveless, who leave in the near future fut-ure to spend the winter in California. Mrs. Pratt and Mrs- Loveless are sisters. Honoring the sixth birthday anniversary anni-versary of her son, Jack, Mrs. Walter Devey is entertaining this afternoon. Invitations have been extended to fourteen little friends, and an afternoon after-noon of games, music and outdoor sports have been arranged for to be followed by dainty refreshments. Miss Bessie Fitzgerald and Miss Audrey Jackson of Provo, were week-end week-end visitors at the R. L. Ashby home, guests of Miss Lucretia and Mary Ashby. Miss Luctetia Ashby, who has been employed, in Provo during the summer months, accompanied her house guests to American Fork and will remain home until the B. T. U. commences. Miss Mildred Wandlass and Miss Ethel Pratt entertained Tuesday evening at "a "weenie" roast in the American Fork timbers. The guests present included the following: Misses Miss-es Mabel Huggard, Ethel Brown, Vira Bennett, Messrs. Bill Wilson. Clifford Pulley, LeRoy Sudweeks and Kenneth Mott Miss Ruth Chipman and Miss Meryle Chipman of Salt Lake City, were week-end visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Chipman. Ruth left Wednesday morning for Ogden, where she will again teach at the Ogden High School following a summer's activities In Salt Lake, where she assisted in playground play-ground supervision. Meryle will resume re-sume her activities at the University of Utah, where she has charge of the college cafeteria. Mr. and Mrs. Winn Nicholes of Park City, visited relatives in American Amer-ican Fork last Friday. Mrs. Ira Nicholes of Salt Lake City, was a visitor at the home of her mother, Mrs. Lillian K. Brown, Sunday Sun-day and Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte are now at home in American Fork, after spending the summer in Wlldwood, Provo canyon at their summer home. Mrs. Thomas Coddington left this morning for the capitol city, where she will combine business and pleasure pleas-ure during the day. The many friends of Grover C. Evans will be pleased to learn that he is slowly improving from his recent re-cent serious illness. He has been at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Verne Dunn held in Provo Sunday afternoon. After being (discontinued for the summer months, the Sorosis Ladies again took up their social activities: Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs-Lawrence Mrs-Lawrence Brings. The afternoon was 'spent in social chat and sewing, after which a delicious three course luncheon lunch-eon was served.
