Show VI Orem Garage Man Has Scare Monday evening two ladies enroute to Bingham driving an Essex car stopped at the A. V. Washburn service ser-vice station at the junction of the Slate highway and Provo canyon road and asked for distilled water for theif car battery. Mr. Washburn brought the water and proceded to put it in the car. His wallet containing $175.-00 $175.-00 in currency and checks fell out of his pocket and the wind blew the checks and currency ten rods along the State highway and adjoining streets. He missed his wallet and called the sheriff and Orem marshal, Ray Gillman. Mr." Gillman called Bingham and intervening towns describing des-cribing the ladies and the car, thinking think-ing the wallet had been stolen by them. Finally the wallet was discovered and a thorough search of the vicinity was made and all the money located. The towns were notified to not hold the innocent ladies who had been thought to be thieves. |
